SIS-SREM

A drone-based ski-slope safety system. Predates AUDROS and was Dronehub's earliest formal ESA-funded programme — the proof of capability that led to subsequent joint ESA + EDA work on counter-UAS.

What we built

Aerial monitoring for places where humans can't patrol fast enough.

Ski resorts have a problem common to large industrial sites: vast area, high stakes, and a small ground team. SIS-SREM applied Dronehub's autonomous drone-in-a-box approach to avalanche risk monitoring, off-piste deviation detection, and rapid first response to incidents on the slope.

The deployment at Dolni Morava — one of the Czech Republic's best-known ski resorts — was Dronehub's first publicly deployed ESA Business Applications programme. It established the reference architecture (autonomous launch, scheduled patrols, AI-assisted change detection) that later programmes would extend into defense and counter-UAS.

Strategic context

SIS-SREM was Dronehub's entry into ESA Business Applications. The relationship it established directly enabled AUDROS — the first-ever joint ESA + EDA SME programme — to be funded in 2020. For procurement officers reviewing Dronehub's track record, SIS-SREM is the consistent thread that explains why ESA and EDA were willing to co-fund novel dual-use systems with us.
